I’m Adrian Perks and I believe that every person's journey is unique, and that understanding and healing happen best in a safe, supportive environment.
As an Integrative Child & Adolescent Psychotherapist, I bring both professional expertise and genuine compassion to my work with children, young people, and adults.
My journey in therapeutic work began in education, where I spent over five years supporting children and adolescents in both primary and secondary schools. This experience gave me valuable insights into the challenges young people face, particularly around anxiety, school attendance, and emotional wellbeing. One of my most rewarding experiences was running a therapeutic group for Year 8 boys struggling with school attendance, where I witnessed firsthand the transformative power of targeted support.
Currently, alongside my private practice, I work as a psychotherapist in the Complex Trauma Team at Family Futures CIC, specialising in trauma-informed therapy. My previous role as Practice Manager in the London Clinical Team at PAC-UK allowed me to develop extensive experience supporting individuals and families affected by adoption and permanent placement. This work has given me a deep understanding of attachment, identity, and the lasting impact of early experiences.
I take an integrative approach to therapy, drawing from various therapeutic models to create a treatment plan that best suits each individual's needs. Whether working with children, adolescents, or adults, I believe in creating a collaborative therapeutic relationship where growth and healing can occur naturally.
As an EMDR therapist and NVR Informed Practitioner, I can offer specialised support for trauma processing and therapeutic parenting strategies. My experience spans individual therapy, parent-child work, and family support, allowing me to provide comprehensive care that considers the whole person and their support system.
